Squirrel Monkey-Max

This small male Squirrel Monkey, at 13 weeks old, exhibits the classic “white mask” of fur around his bright eyes. His coat is a characteristic olive-to-gray color, with splashes of yellow-orange on his limbs and feet. He is highly social and still intensely dependent, spending most of his time securely clinging to his caregiver’s back. At this age, he is rapidly developing his agility, practicing wobbly leaps and climbs away from his main perch. He uses a variety of chirps and peeps, essential vocalizations for maintaining contact and well-being. His long, non-prehensile tail is already used constantly for balance during his explorations. He is a lively, curious infant, beginning to taste solid foods alongside nursing.
