Meet Lucy, a female Capuchin monkey at the developmental age of 15 weeks. She is transitioning from total dependence, actively increasing the time she spends off her caregiver’s body. Her appearance features the characteristic rich brown and black fur, with a notably lighter face and chest. Lucy is intensely curious and playful, demonstrating a rapid increase in her independent activity and social play. She is perfecting her prehension, using her small hands to manipulate and mouth a wide variety of objects. Expect her to be highly communicative with chirps, trills, and soft vocalizations for contact. Lucy is learning complex social behaviors by watching and mimicking her older group members. Her continued reliance on security and engagement makes her a very endearing young primate.
